A delightful and elegant example of a Royal Worcester dessert plate. Decorated with a hand-painted flower bouquet in the centre on a white ground. The plate has tiny bunches of small flowers on a pastel green and gilt border. There is impressed factory marks and pattern number 7968w on the back, was made around c1885.

Worcester is one of the most widely collected of 18th century English porcelain factories. The factory produced a huge variety of products and styles. This gives collectors a fantastic ranging from the very rare to the surprisingly common.
Worcester porcelain is believed to be the oldest or second oldest remaining English porcelain brand. The factory was founded at Warmstry House, Worcester in 1751. The period between 1751 and 1783 is often known as the Dr. Wall period after one of the founders. In 1783 the factory was purchased by Thomas Flight. After this various names were used until in 1862 when it became the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company, now part of the Portmeirion Group which is still in existence today.
Condition ReportThe plate is in excellent antique condition without damage or crazing, there are some light surface scratches around the centre and some rubbing on the gilt border, the plate still rings nicely when tapped.
The picture has "bright areas" which are reflections, not damage.
