A high quality Coalport Botanical lozenge shaped dessert service dish/low comport probably painted by Stephen Lawrence. The piece is exquisitely decorated with hand-painted botanical flowers in the centre, and further floral panels within the blue border and moulding rim. The piece has a pattern number 4/412 on the back which was made c1839-1845
Note: For a similar service see Geoffrey Godden, 'Coalport and Coalbrookdale Porcelains, fig. 145. Lawrence is listed in the Coalport pattern books as being the artist responsible for decorating this service. He is supposed to have left the Coalport factory in 1846.
Dimensions: 34cm length x 24cm width x 7cm high.
The dish is in nearly perfect antique condition, without any damage or crazing the painting and the colour are still bright, there are a few lights rubbing near the foot rim. The picture has bright areas which are reflections, not damage.
