A Coalport Coalbrookdale vase in pastel green ground, decorated with two hand painted opposing panels of rivers and mountainous wooded landscapes surrounded by floral-encrustation. The vase is unmarked which is normal for Coalport porcelain from this era.

Coalbrookdale ware (flower encrusted china) was made at Coalport factory from the 1820 to 1840. It included both decorative and useful items, the porcelain the flowers made the pieces fragile and easily damaged. The floral modelling and painting were very skilled tasks, some of the flowers have up to 150 individually shaped and painted petals. Designs, watercolour drawings and prices of the 1840s Coalbrookdale ware have been preserved in the notebook of William Hadley, travelling salesman for Coalport. A Coalbrookdale potpourri vase is listed as costing 3 guineas (1 guinea = £1.05).
There has been professional restoration around the neck and the rim with over-painting and further restoration to one handle. There is a section of rubbing to the landscape panel and crazing on the foot. Some of the flowers and leaves have small chips, losses. (Please study pictures carefully)
